Dear Friend,
I am Mrs. Zainab Abiola,a God fearing person in sorrow, one of the widows of late M.K.O Abiola,Nigeria’s foremost politician, businessman and philantropist who died as a result of fighting for the presidential election he won but was denied his presidential sit(JUNE 12).
I sincerely need your assistance, but I want you to bear in mind that this has to be strictly confidential ,I sincerely need your assistance to take custodian of the sum of Twenty five milion Five Hundred Thousand United States Dollars(USD25,500,000.00).
This money was given to me by my late husband [Chief M.K.O.Abiola] for safekeeping as money meant for woing investors to Nigeria when he finally become the president after the Presidential Election campaign. After his death in 1998, there was confusion in the entire Abiola family as regards sharing of the family assets and moreso, there is envy and jealousy as it was obvious that I was my husband’s favourite wife, while he was alive.
As soon as he passed away, coupled with the fact that, what I have and what is due to me might be taking away from me by greedy family relations whose reasons would be bothering on family tradition and ethics, I decided to deposit the money with a bank vult with the help of my late husband’s friend (Col.Adamu Bello rtd.) who was a member of the government in power then.
I am prepared to compensate you with 15% of the total sum after the successful completion of the transaction and you will also have to invest my family share in a very good business venture with you as our front manager alongside my son.
My son, Wale Abiola will be in charge of this transaction; he stays far away from the family Villa. He will be giving you more information as regards these transaction. He is my only son and we share secrets. Please respond as soon as you get this mail and please it is important that you send your private phone and fax numbers so that I can forward them to the bank after an attorney must have change and legalize all the papers to your name if you are willing to assist me.
I intends investing a larger percentage of this funds into a profitable business venture with you as a partner if this funds gets into your custody in the next couple of days.Please. I would’nt want you to disappiont me please for God’s sake.
God will always be there for you at your time of need.
Thanks and God Bless.
Mrs.Zainab Abiola.

Dear Mr. Abiola,
Sorry for taking so long to respond to you. I’m a long-haul trucker and only get home to check my e-mail about every week to ten days or so. But I think I can help you with your transaction. As for the information you wanted, my phone number is 760-762-9103 but I’m not usually at home to answer it, being on the road and all. You might just want to stick to the e-mail. I checked with my boss and I can have stuff faxed to the home office, so just put my name on it so it gets put in my box. The fax number is 413-778-1103.
I don’t have a passport. The furthest I’ve ever gone out of the country is a weekend in Tijuana when I was 19. Lots of drinking and partying that weekend, let me tell you. I’ll see if I can find somebody to scan my license for me, but it might take a few days.
Yours truly,
Leroy

Dear Leroy Fujimoto,
Here is the website of the bank. I want you to browse it and make inquiries about offshore/online account.
Bank Website: www.bromwichalbion.com
You will have to open an account in this bank so the transfer would be inhouse and less attractive.
After which you will move the funds fron the bank to your bank.
I have worked out the modalities and you will have to follow my instruction for this transaction to be hitch free.
I hope to read from you or prefarably hear from you.

Wale Abiola

We have a live one here. The “bank” he wants me to check out is quite interesting. (NOTE: I have since received an e-mail from the person listed by WHOIS as owner of this domain; he was a victim of identity theft, and not involved in this scam at all. I have deleted his name and other identifying information from this page. -MacQ.)

Sorry, I was out of town on a long run and just got back. My drivers license is attached.
Leroy
I have no idea who this guy is, but he came up when I searched for “eurasian” in Google’s image search. I kinda like the “Elvis” look that he has. I think I did a pretty darn good job faking up the driver’s license.

I looked at that site, and I’m not too impressed, let me tell you. I can’t find anyplace to apply for an account, and the contact page isn’t secure. Are you sure you want to use that bank? Their website is strictly amateur night.

Real? Did I say it wasn’t real? I said I wasn’t impressed. They look incompetent. But now you have me worried, what if they aren’t real?
I’m going to do a little checking into them. Thanks for the warning.

I think you’re being ripped off. It looks like that bank is phony. I went to Google and did a search, and there are no websites linking to that bank’s site, and no mention of that bank anywhere in the world. It has never been mentioned in a news story. I think you were right, it’s not a real bank.
So then I did a WHOIS search on it, and found that the domain isn’t registered to any company; it’s registered to a guy in London named (DELETED).
I think he’s going to try to cheat you.
Leroy
Hmph. He gave up. No reply.
